WINTER LOCKDOWN: AN UPDATE ABOUT OUR SERVICES

Posted: December 22, 2020

Since the outbreak of Covid-19, Hillcrest has been continuing to provide as many services as possible and have tried to help and support tenants as best we can. We are continually reviewing and adapting our services in line with the latest Scottish Government guidance.

On Saturday 19th December, the First Minister announced that the whole of Scotland will enter Level 4 from 26 December 2020, initially for three weeks to 16 January 2021.

Essential maintenance visits inside your home can continue as normal subject to your permission and the usual safety and social distancing rules will apply. We will have to suspend some planned maintenance works such as kitchen replacements until further notice.

Allocation, lettings and tenancy sign-ups are still permitted – staff will carry out viewings using socially distanced procedures that are already in place. Estate and close inspections will also continue to be carried out to help identify any urgent maintenance works required. Please note that before we arrange any emergency visits, we’ll need to ask you some questions in order to ensure we are following Government guidelines and keeping our tenants and staff safe.

Virtual appointments remain the default position for all other services with staff contacting you by phone, email, text or video call. No face to face meetings inside homes are possible, and our staff can only travel for work only if essential. Any emergency visits that are absolutely necessary will have to be conducted outside your home.

It is still not possible for us to re-open our offices to visitors and we will notify tenants as soon as we are able to do so.

We’d like to thank you for your continued patience and understanding during these challenging times.Further information relating to all of our housing and repairs services, including further help and support for tenants, can be found here.
