Volunteer Appreciation Dinner | Volunteer’s Week 2021

Posted: June 1, 2021

Today marks the start of #VolunteersWeek, a chance to celebrate and say thank you for the contribution volunteers make within Hillcrest and in the wider community.

This year we want to focus on the volunteers who have been helping us in our boutique charity shop since it opened in July 2020.

Past Present Futures, located in Broughty Ferry, sells pre-loved designer and high street clothing and accessories for affordable prices. All money raised in the shop goes to Hillcrest Futures to support people to live full and vibrant lives.

Volunteers at our shop help with a wide range of tasks including window dressing, creating content for our social media, sorting through donations, steaming garments and serving customers.

To thank our volunteers for their hard work and commitment, our shop manager recently organised a meal at The Fort Hotel’s Tiki Bar in Broughty Ferry.

One of our volunteers, Sergio commented: “It was a brilliant night! Great food and great discussions as everyone shared their back stories about how they started volunteering for Hillcrest Futures. We all really enjoyed it! Many thanks to Hillcrest.”

Past Present Futures manager, Tricia Perrie commented: “We all had a great team-building night and it was a chance for our volunteers to meet each other as most work different shifts. We had a fantastic time and all feel appreciated and valued by Hillcrest.”
