Local supermarkets donate Easter eggs to vulnerable families in Dundee

Posted: April 2, 2021

More than 80 Easter eggs have been donated to vulnerable people accessing Hillcrest Futures’ support services in Dundee thanks to the generosity of local supermarkets.

Tesco Riverside donated 30 chocolate eggs whilst Asda Dundee West contributed 50 eggs to help spread Easter cheer to those in need.

The eggs were distributed to a host of recipients, including vulnerable young people as well as adults in recovery from substance use.

Hillcrest Futures project worker, Laura Ann Ferguson who helped coordinate the appeal explained: “This past year has been especially tough for the people we support, so we decided to hold this appeal to help make someone’s day that little bit brighter and show we all care.

“The eggs were distributed to our young people’s services in Dundee. Our services offer support and information to people aged between 12 to 25 around drugs and alcohol as well as relationships, parenthood and sexual health.

“We also handed out eggs to the individuals who access support at our drug and alcohol services in the Cairn Centre, as well as their families.

“The eggs truly went down a treat and have definitely lifted people’s spirits. We want to give a huge thank you again to Tesco and Asda for their kind donations.”
