Learning Disability Week: Royalene

Posted: May 16, 2019

Royalene is supported by our Gowrie Care learning disability outreach service in Perth and Kinross.  She is heavily involved in her community and enjoys volunteering at various places.

Royalene has her own tenancy and likes to be independent. She gets the bus on her own to and from her various volunteering activities.

She currently volunteers in Alyth Community Cafe every Wednesday and helps out in Booklore, a second hand book shop in Blairgowrie, once a week.

Royalene is pictured on an “All Ability Bicycle” as provided by Live Active Leisure in Perth. The handbike allows you to pedal with your hands rather than your legs, which is ideal for people with mobility issues. Royalene really enjoyed giving it a go by cycling around the local park earlier this week!
