Help is at hand this winter

Posted: December 15, 2021

The long dark winter nights and Christmas getting closer can make many of us feel lonely and isolated. Loneliness isn’t a mental health problem itself, but it can lead to poorer mental health.

Getting out and connecting with nature is a great way to improve wellbeing. If you would like to visit a local garden or zoo, we have free entry tickets for you. If you fancy exploring the outdoors on two wheels instead and would like to try out an electric bicycle, we have some free rental vouchers for this too. Please give our customer services team a ring on 0300 123 2640 if you would like more information.

If you are struggling this winter you don’t have to face things alone. The Samaritans are there to talk to you day or night on 116 123, or if you’d rather email them, you can contact jo@samaritans.org. They also have a self-help app so you can track your mood and get ideas to help: www.samaritans.org/ how-we-can-help/contact-samaritan/self-help/.
