John Shepherd, Chairman (part-time, non-remunerated)
As a qualified Civil Engineer with over 25 years experience in project management and property development, which includes an emphasis on urban regeneration, John sets the strategy and directs the activities of the Company. He works closely with his co-director Stuart and reports quarterly to the full board. John is also managing director of Whiteburn Holdings Ltd, a commercial development and investment company and a non-executive director of Hillcrest Properties Scotland

Stuart Shepherd, Managing Director
Stuart is responsible for leading and directing all operational aspects of Northern Housing's business. He is also responsible for future strategy and growth of Mid Market Rent within the organisation.

Fiona Melvin-Farr, Non-Executive Director (part-time, non-remunerated)
With a background in marketing and business management within both property and other sectors, Fiona is a marketing consultant to a number of organisations. She provides a marketing and PR overview to the Board.

Rosemary Farrar, Non-Executive Director (part-time, non-remunerated)
Rosemary has over 25 years of financial management including Group Finance Director at two major London based housing associations. She provides specialist financial management advice and housing association practice overview to the directors. Rosemary is Finance Director of the Southern Housing Group based in London.

Robin Cuthbert, Non-Executive Director (part-time, non-remunerated)
With a background in the gas industry and energy consultancy, Robin is an adviser to local authorities. He was the former head of corporate affairs at BG Scotland and past Scottish chairman of the Institution of Gas Engineers. He provides the directors with specialist energy conservation and sustainability advice and identifies sources of grant funding.

Dave Ritchie, Non-Executive Director (part-time, non-remunerated)
Dave retired in 2010 as Senior Rent Officer in charge of the Dundee office of the Rent Registration Service, part of the Scottish Government having been a Rent officer since 1985. He is currently Vice-Chair of Abbeyfield Scotland Ltd. and is a member of the Management Committee of Rosendael Veterans Residence in Dundee. Having spent 22 years in the TA, he completed his service as a Major, and second-in-command of the Third Battalion The Black Watch.
