The Hillcrest Group Strike Gold
The Hillcrest Group of Companies is proud to announce that they have achieved Gold Investors in People accreditation for the first time since the creation of the Group back in 2003.
Only 1.9% of organisations who receive IIP accreditation are awarded Gold. Angela Linton, Hillcrest Group Depute Chief Executive commented that “We are delighted to be in the top 2% of companies with IIP status. As an organisation we make the best use of our people and resources to achieve efficiency, best value and continuous improvement, to deliver a high quality service to meet the needs of our service users.”
Investors in People is a flexible and easy to use standard which helps organisations transform their business performance. Their frameworks are outcome focused, outlining what companies need to achieve, but never prescribing how. Angela Linton continued that “We had a total of 196 indicators of which an encouraging 172 were met. We received some very positive comments from staff involved in the interviewing process. The key criteria that we did not meet will now be monitored and reviewed to ensure we are improving in these areas.”
Investors in People has grown to be the UK’s leading people management business improvement standard, delivering improved performance to thousands of organisations. Angela Linton explained why IIP was important to Hillcrest. “As a Group we now employ nearly 800 members of staff through various locations in Scotland. The IIP Accreditation process has encouraged us to look at the systems we have in place for staff engagement and development to ensure that we are continuing to meet our aims and objectives.
“Providing well trained and motivated staff is essential to the development and growth of the Hillcrest Group and ensuring that we remain a leading Scottish organisation. Investing in our staff ensures that we employ people who are dedicated, keen to learn and are more productive.”
The Hillcrest Group were presented with their Gold accreditation at a staff BBQ event held in their new Dundee headquarters. Peter Russian, Chief Executive Investors in People, commented that “In challenging times, organisations who recognise that their people are the key to their success stand out from crowd.; as the first Dundee based organisation to achieve Investors in People Gold, the Hillcrest Group are leading the way and should be an inspiration to employers everywhere who are seeking to get the best from their people.”
