Innovative Sustainability Event
Hillcrest Housing Association held an innovative and exciting sustainability event last week. Over 60 of Hillcrest’s youngest tenants made their way to the Sensation Centre, Dundee to take part in an evening that made them think about environmental issues, encouraged recycling and awareness of the effects of their activities and raised awareness of biodiversity. All of the kids went home with information packs that included advice for their parents in the hope that the message would be passed on.
Two workshops took place led by sustainability students that are currently on placement with Hillcrest. One about urban wildlife in Dundee and one about climate change. On top of this Sensation Centre members of staff carried out activities and experiments with the kids and they were free to explore the many exciting exhibitions on show.
The event is a reflection of Hillcrest’s commitment to sustainability and their dedication to encouraging tenant participation.
