Sustainability
The Hillcrest Group is committed to the principles of sustainable development. Hillcrest has in place the elements required to become one of the most sustainable housing associations in the country – the policies, action plans, focus groups and the will to make the changes.
Since June 2005 Hillcrest has implemented a number of initiatives designed to ensure that its activities have a minimal environmental impact, and make a positive social and economic contribution to local communities. These initiatives are reviewed regularly; most recently in Nov '09.
Successful initiatives at Hillcrest include being ISO14001 registered, using recycled printer and copier paper, and recycling 9 tonnes of office paper and cardboard every year (saving the equivalent of 500 trees).
Hillcrest is committed to increasing their use of small scale renewables, which they regard as offering a significant contribution to improved energy efficiency, tackling climate change and reducing tenant fuel poverty.
Please read our Sustainability Policy which can be found in the Related Documents section on the right of this page.
