Charity Dinner Dance
Unlucky for some but not for Hillcrest when they raised over £13,000 for 3 local charities, On Friday 9th November, Hillcrest hosted a charity dinner dance to celebrate their 40th anniversary. Over 250 people made their way to the Hilton Hotel, Dundee to help raise money for Helm Training, Boomerang Project and Over the Wall. All 3 local charities will benefit from money raised through the sale of tickets for the event, donations and proceeds from a raffle, auction and fun casino.
John Mulloy, Hillcrest Group Chief Executive, said “We were delighted to raise such a large amount of money which exceeded the target we’d set. Our thanks go to everyone involved in organising the dance and all of the companies that we work with who have contributed generously and supported our event.”
On the night guests were treated to music by the band Heart and Soul. There was the opportunity to win raffle prizes such as tickets to see The View, rounds of golf and gym passes. Spot prizes could be won at the fun casino and bids could be made on auction items including a signed Everton Top, a week in a villa in Spain and a new kitchen.
John Mulloy continued, “It was important to mark this landmark event in the history of Hillcrest which is now one of Scotland’s leading Housing Associations. The Association is now the head of a growing group of companies that extend the range of activities and makes us more than simply a housing provider. We have a care company subsidiary which operates over 40 care homes and provides support services to over 1,000 people. We provide skills training, access to employment opportunities and innovative construction industry apprenticeship training through another subsidiary. We are about to embark on mid-market rent and housing for outright sale through yet another subsidiary,
“An event of this kind has allowed us to look back through our history and see how we have continually evolved and adapted to new challenges. This quality is one that stands us in great stead for the next 40 years of operation.”
A lunch will be held later in the month to hand over the cheques to the local charities that are benefiting.
