HILLCREST IS STRENGTHENING CHARITIES IN DUNDEE
Two charities in Dundee have joined forces to strengthen the services they provide in the community.
CraigOwl Communities joined the Hillcrest Group to improve the lives of people in Dundee.
Lara Moir, CraigOwl Chief Executive, said: “We have worked with Hillcrest for many years now providing learning opportunities, training and qualifications and guidance and support to people who want to improve their circumstances. The merger is a natural step as Hillcrest and CraigOwl have similar objectives in supporting local people.”
The Hillcrest Group, headed by Hillcrest Housing Association, has grown over the years to provide more than just housing.
Fiona Morrison, Director of Housing at Hillcrest, said: “This is an exciting time for both companies. We are looking forward to strengthening the services we both provide. Between us we work on a number of projects, including getting people back into work, help with budgeting, training opportunities, basic life skills and lots more. The expertise from both companies will place us in a stronger position to provide a service addressing the needs of local people.”
Lara added: “The merger is a great opportunity for us. We will be able to offer an increased range of services, explore new ventures and benefit from Hillcrest’s in-house services such as staff training, health and safety and IT.”
