Biodiversity is Life
The Hillcrest group of companies has joined the world-wide celebrations of 2010 as the International Year of Biodiversity (IYB). The diversity of life on earth is crucial for human well-being and now is the time to act to preserve it. The IYB has over 200 members in the UK, who are in partnership to promote the importance and understanding of biodiversity.
Janice Fraser, Hillcrest Health, Safety and Sustainability Coordinator, explained that “biodiversity is an increasingly important issue at Hillcrest and we are constantly developing our methods to be more sustainable. For example we have recently taken ownership of a therapeutic garden, which will be a fantastic asset for raising awareness surrounding biodiversity for service users and staff alike. With 2010 being the International Year of Biodiversity it is a great opportunity to share ideas with other organisations and hopefully find new methods of communicating biodiversity across the organisation.”
