Improving Energy Efficiency
Hillcrest Housing Association is set to take on another two student placements in their ongoing aim to improve resource efficiency.
Hillcrest is taking on two students through the Business Environment Partnership’s (BEP)Environmental Placement Programme. The BEP is a not-for-profit project that provides valuable resources to organisations looking to undertake specific environmental projects. One placement will look at the affordability of retro-fitted air source heat pumps to provide a more sustainable heating system than gas. The other placement will look at improving waste minimization, storage and disposal in Hillcrest Maintenance Services.
Hillcrest have taken on many students in previous years looking at food waste, biodiversity, travel, energy efficiency and sustainability. Adrian Caddick, Risk & Compliance Manager for Hillcrest commented that “the Environmental Placement Programme is an excellent scheme which always provides students that are dedicated to achieving environmental improvements. With mentoring support from specialists, the programme is helping us to achieve our environmental commitments and gives the students invaluable experience for their future career. We’re looking forward to another successful partnership with the BEP on this year’s placements.”
The Business Environment Partnership provides free resource efficiency support to organisations. For more information on this and the Environmental Placement Programme, visit www.thebep.org.uk
