Learning Disability
There are many different types of learning disability and most are developed before birth or very early in a person’s life. People with a learning disability find it more difficult than others to communicate and learn. There are 1.5 million people in the UK with a learning disability and the level of support required varies depending on the severity of the disability.
Autism is a condition which affects the ability to communicate, form relationships and understand everyday activities. In Scotland there is around 45,000 people who have Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
At Gowrie Care, we offer support to people with both learning disabilities and ASD in many different ways.
