The Compass Project

The Compass Project has been created to combat the impact of financial and social exclusion by going to the public in their homes and communities and offering advice and guidance which will help them to become more financially and socially included.

This is a free, confidential and non judgemental signposting agency supported by Hillcest in conjunction with Discover Opportunities, The Dundee Partnership's Employability Programme. It engages with and helps those in the city of Dundee who are unemployed and entitled to benefits, by offering practical advice and information.

We use a door knocking system in which workers, called Communitity Animators, engage with residents and offer advice and support. If they can't offer on the spot guidance, the Animators can refer the client to another agency if required.

There are many areas in which the Compass Project can offer advice and support, these include:

  • Employment
  • Training
  • Education
  • Voluntary work
  • Childcare
  • Confidence building
  • Coping with physical and mental health issues

These are some of the services that the Compass Project offer to residents in the Dundee area.
