Hillcrest Maintenance Service

Based at Tom Johnston Road Dundee, Hillcrest Maintenance Services (HMS) was set up to carry out maintenance works on behalf of Hillcrest Housing Association and their tenants. The rationale being to help improve service levels to tenants and to realise in-house efficiency savings and financial savings, both of which would reduce costs for Hillcrest Housing Association and their tenants.

Since the first maintenance works were carried out in August 2007, with a team of 6 staff using 2 vans, HMS has undergone a rapid growth in size and now has over 60 staff and over 30 vans.

Hillcrest Housing Association has awarded HMS a number of maintenance contracts since August 2007 including Kitchen Replacements, Electrical Periodic Inspections, Gas Boiler Installations, Stage 3 Adaptations, Bathroom Replacements, Void Property Repairs, Gas Servicing, Cyclical Painting and various Electrical works. In addition to these contracts HMS has also successfully tendered for and won several maintenance contracts with external organisations.

HMS also supports the Hillcrest Housing Association Toolbox program which offers construction industry training opportunities for young people. HMS currently provides training opportunities for several Toolbox young persons and also employs 4 apprentice joiners, all of whom had successfully attended the Toolbox program with the Hillcrest HA Toolbox program. In addition to 4 joinery apprentices HMS also employs 1 apprentice electrician and 1 apprentice painter
